Ingredients
- 3 large eggplants, sliced
- 3 medium potatoes, sliced
- 500g ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 400g canned tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup red wine (optional)
- 400ml béchamel sauce
- 1 cup grated cheese (Kefalotyri or Parmesan)
- Olive oil, salt, pepper, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Salt the eggplant slices and let them sit for 30 minutes to draw out moisture.
- Rinse and pat dry, then grill or fry them until golden.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil, sauté onions, and garlic until fragrant. Add the ground meat and brown it.
