What is Fileless Malware?
Fileless malware represents a sophisticated type of cyber threat that operates without relying on traditional files stored on disk. Instead, it leverages legitimate system tools and processes to execute malicious activities. Fileless malware is designed to evade detection by antivirus software, as it does not leave a conventional footprint typical of regular malware.
This type of malware often exploits vulnerabilities in software and tools already present on the victim's system, such as Windows PowerShell, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), and macros in documents.
