Ingredients

  • 500g minced meat (lamb, beef, or chicken)
  • 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, slit (adjust to taste)
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnishing
  • Optional: peas or potatoes

Instructions

  1. Heat oil or ghee in a heavy skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds; once they splutter, add onions. Sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in garlic, ginger, and green chilies; cook for another minute.
  4. Add tomatoes, salt, and cook until they break down and oil separates.
  5. Mix in minced meat, stirring until browned.
  6. Add coriander powder, garam masala, and any optional ingredients like peas or diced potatoes.
  7. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
